Honoring Our Veterans
Honoring Those Who Served
99 Years of Serving Our Community.
Forever Grateful to Those Who Served Our Country.
Since 1927, Kerlin Motor Company has proudly called Silver Lake, Indiana home. For nearly a century, generations of families have trusted us with their automotive needs.
But the strength of our community has never been measured by the number of vehicles we sell. It is measured by the people who live here, the families who support one another, and those who have answered the call to serve our country.
This November, we proudly join Ford Motor Company and the Ford Building Together Community Heroes initiative in recognizing America's veterans.
Why November 11 Matters
On November 11, 1918, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, an armistice brought an end to the fighting on the Western Front of World War I.
Originally recognized as Armistice Day, November 11 became a day to remember those who served and sacrificed during the war. In 1954, the holiday was officially renamed Veterans Day to honor American veterans of all wars.
Today, Veterans Day is an opportunity to recognize every generation of Americans who has worn the uniform of our nation's Armed Forces.
Whether they served during wartime or peacetime, at home or overseas, their commitment deserves our gratitude and respect.
A Commitment That Spans Generations
Kerlin Motor Company was founded in 1927, less than a decade after the end of World War I. Over the next 99 years, our country would experience extraordinary change, and generations of Americans would answer the call to military service.
Throughout those years, Kerlin Motor Company has remained committed to the same small-town values that helped build our business: integrity, honesty, service, and taking care of our neighbors.
Our community has supported our family-owned dealership for generations. Giving back to the people who make this community special is an important part of who we are.
As we approach our 100th anniversary, we remain committed to honoring our history while building a stronger future for the generations who follow.
To Our Veterans and Military Families
To every veteran who has served, every military family who has sacrificed, and every individual who has stood ready to defend our nation:
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for your service.
Your service will never be taken for granted at Kerlin Motor Company.
Recognizing the Heroes in Our Community
Through Ford's Building Together Community Heroes initiative, dealerships across the country are celebrating the individuals who help make their communities stronger.
Here in Northern Indiana, we know our communities are home to veterans whose stories deserve to be heard and whose service deserves to be remembered.
We invite you to join us in recognizing the veterans in your family, your neighborhood, and our community.
Whether it is a parent, grandparent, spouse, friend, coworker, or neighbor, we encourage you to share your appreciation and help us thank those who served.
Together, we can ensure their contributions are recognized today and remembered by future generations.
